Luis Rodrguez Questions

Luis Rodriguez said he joined a gang because he wanted power. Do you think Luis has power now? Why or why not?
I think he has more power now than he did when he was in a gang. I think that the leaders of the gang had the power and not the people like him are just like pawns that are moved to take over other gangs and rule. Now he is changing people's lifes by telling his story of gangs and that is powerful because he is changing lifes rather than taking lifes.

Do you think Luis is a leader? Why or why not?
I think that Luis is a leader because with the gangs he took a stand to try and stop it. He stood up to other people in the gang and was almost shot for doing so. He has worked hard to change his life and he should be thanked for changing others. Thank you Luis Rodriguez.

-Were did you grow up?

I grew up in South Gate.

-How was your community as a kid?

It was a dangerous community, "Sort of like Compton"

-What is a leader to you?

A truthful person is a leader to me.

-Do you consider yourself a leader? Why?

"Yes, I consider myself a leader because i do whats good."

-What do you think your largest major accomplishment is? Why?

"Raising good successful kids, that was my largest accomplishment."

-What were you doing before teaching?

"I owned a business."

-Do you have children? How old are they?

"Yes, I have a 30 year old daughter, and a 20 year old son."

-What was their major accomplishment to you?

"Both of my children succeeded against all the odds."

-What do you do in your spare time?

I like to walk rescued animals around to exercise them.

Leader

What is a leader? A leader is some1 that goes away from the mold and starts something new, no matter what people say. A leader is some1 that can lead a nation or just 1 person to were they are needed to go. A good leader can control alot of people and a bad leader, if they cant control the multitudes, runs from there problems. I have led in fashion, helping my friends with homework, in sschool newspapers, football teams. I now help people with there homework, we have a study group. I consider all the civil rights people a leader because they have all changed the world in some way.
